Engineering Technician / Special Inspector
Triad Engineering, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Engineering Technician and Special Inspector for our Maryland office in Baltimore Metro Area.

DUTIES
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform Special Inspections for structural steel, bolted connections, structural masonry and reinforced concrete
- Perform routine quality control test procedures including concrete and nuclear moisture / density testing
- Complete and submit daily reports and Job Hazard Analysis forms
- Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
- Familiar with applicable plans and specifications
- Frequent exposure to clients
- May occasionally make limited recommendations in the field after consultation with PM and/or Engineer
- May have limited responsibility for assisting, directing and/or training entry-level technicians
- Maintain a driving record free of specific violations
- May perform field work within other company disciplines
- May schedule client meetings and/or additional services
- May occasionally attend job site related meetings
- May occasionally perform routine testing in the lab
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 3-5 years of formal industry experience required
- Construction-related training or technical training desirable
Certifications
- Concrete, soils and foundation testing certifications required
- ICC certifications for Structural Steel and Bolting, Structural Masonry and Reinforced Concrete required or will be required to pass exam immediately upon employment
- WACEL, NICET, CWI or AWS certifications are a plus
Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
This position may require long term standing and repetitive motions. Must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. Must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).
