Environmental Senior Geologist

Triad Engineering, Inc. has an immediate need for a full-time Environmental Senior Geologist in our Winchester, VA office.

The successful candidate is a senior-level professional with the knowledge, experience, and judgment to independently plan, design, and implement multiple non-routine and complex projects. 

DUTIES

• Plan, coordinate and direct larger and/or more complex projects
• Lead and direct projects with overall responsibility for technical accuracy and appropriateness
• Manage/solve technically complex problems, at times using advanced techniques and practices
• Proposal preparation and direct follow through
• Responsible for scheduling, productivity and budget of projects
• Ensure consistent, professional written and verbal communication with clients and project team members
• Arrange and direct project and program related meetings with clients and/or government agencies
• Develop staff and project geologists
• Review work performed by staff and project geologists, communicating information and discussing interpretations with clients and government agencies
• May perform asbestos inspections and collecting of asbestos samples
• May perform air monitoring 
• May perform lab testing on soil, rock or concrete samples
• Recognize, initiate and advance business development opportunities
• Prospect, develop and maintain client relationships
• Strive to make each project profitable

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Geology or other discipline appropriate to the assignment

Experience

• 6+ years of progressively more complex professional experience

Additional Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
• Must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills
• Must be comfortable communicating with the public
• Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office and relevant technical software required), including the ability to learn various types of company / client software
• Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments

Work is performed both in the office and in the field, which may include all weather conditions, construction sites and/or difficult terrain, and extensive standing and walking. The employee may occasionally be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry field equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus.
