Geotechnical Engineering Manager
Triad Engineering, Inc. has an immediate need for a Geotechnical Engineering Manager who can successfully lead a dynamic team of project management and technical staff within its Washington Metro region. This position will be based in our Northern Virginia office located in Sterling, VA.

The Preferred Candidate:
- Must hold a P.E. License or be qualified to obtain a P.E. license within one year of hire
- Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering
- Displays strong technical skills and is capable of mentoring team members
- Is results-oriented with superior skills in organization, planning and attention to detail
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Displays strong leadership and personnel management skills
- Is proactive in the advancement of business development
DUTIES
- Manage the practice to achieve maximum profitability and growth
- Ensure high quality deliverables in a timely and efficient manner
- Effectively manage client base and client satisfaction
- Prepare proposals and technical reports
- Serve as a technical leader, providing expert technical advice as necessary
- Train and mentor Staff Engineers, Staff Geologists and Field Technicians
- Assist Regional Manager in planning, staffing, management, and business development
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred
- P.E. License, or qualifications to obtain a P.E. license within one year, is required
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office and relevant technical software required), including the ability to learn various types of company / client software
- Must be available to work in all types of indoor environments; may ocassionally be required to work in various outdoor environments
The employee may occasionally be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work is most often performed in an office setting, but occasionally performed under varied weather conditions, sometimes on construction sites or in difficult terrain, and sometimes involves extensive standing and walking.
