Senior Survey Supervisor

Triad Engineering, Inc. has an immediate need for a Senior Survey Supervisor in our Winchester, VA office

The Preferred Candidate:

• Professional Surveyors License in the Commonwealth of Virginia required
• Must have at least 10 years of relevant, progressive experience
• Displays strong technical skills
• Is results-oriented with superior skills in organization, planning and attention to detail

• Displays strong leadership and personnel management skills
• Is proactive in the advancement of business development

DUTIES

• Ensure that survey staff performs project research, boundary calculations, and records accuracy of survey data, notes, and sketches
• Coordinate and schedule daily field work and make crew assignments
• Assist Survey Practice Leader in training and mentoring staff, utilizing individual talents, skills, and abilities
• Assist Survey Practice Leader in monitoring staffing requirements and acting accordingly
• Serve as a technical resource, providing critical / expert technical advice as necessary
• Participate as an active member of a project team when required
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work
• Assist Survey Practice Leader in preparing proposals and technical reports
• Prepare fieldwork budgets
• Maintain frequent and ongoing contact with clients, contractors and office professional staff
• Coordinate the repair and maintenance of survey vehicles and equipment
• Strive to make each project profitable

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Post-secondary technical training in surveying, including two-year associate degree or technology degree is required

Experience

• 10+ years of relevant experience

Certifications 

• VA Professional Surveyors License required

Additional Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
• Must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills
• Must be comfortable communicating with the public
• Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office and relevant technical software required), including the ability to learn various types of company / client software
• Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments 

Work is performed both in the office and in the field, which may include all weather conditions, often on busy streets or construction sites. Involves extensive standing and walking, and includes clearing brush, working in difficult terrain, manholes and on difficult slopes. May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
